Key Highlights from WTTD 2025

The WTTD 2025 Report captures the vibrant and inclusive spirit of this year’s celebration, packed with impactful stories, insights from Promoters and organisers, and data that reflect the global movement we’ve built together.

  • Global Participation Reaches New Heights

An impressive 95% of these events embraced the Diversity & Inclusion theme, engaging over 102,000 participants from all walks of life. Notably, 60% of events were organised by first-timers, and the celebrations reached across age, gender, and ability, focusing especially on children and youth (50.3%), women and girls (20.5%), and people with disabilities (4.4%).

  • Main Celebration in Nairobi, Kenya

Showcasing the momentum of the Kenyan community, the WTTD 2025 main celebration was co-hosted by our Dream Building Fund project partner, Vision Changers Kenya, and the ITTF Foundation at Nairobi City Hall. From inclusive tournaments and cultural performances to panel discussions on Diversity & Inclusion and sport for development, the event vividly captured the spirit of community and unity through table tennis.

  • Promoters Leading the Way

WTTD 2025 recruited 32 Promoters from 29 countries and territories, championing inclusive celebrations across five continents. Their collective efforts reached more than 8,600 participants, including refugees, people with disabilities, and marginalised groups. The Report features their heartfelt stories and creative approaches that brought grassroots inclusivity to life.

  • ITTF Member Associations Set New Records

WTTD 2025 also saw a record of 67 ITTF Member Associations join the celebration, reflecting the deepening commitment of national federations to connect society through the shared love for table tennis. Their contributions added scale and strength to the celebration and participation at the national level.

  • Beyond the Day: Continued Mission towards Diversity and Inclusion

Besides the event celebration on 23 April, our initiatives to promote Diversity & Inclusion continue. Through our collaboration with Pongmasters for the second consecutive year, 70 new table tennis tables and 132 reviews were mapped globally, boosting community engagement and making the sport more accessible. Building on last year’s momentum, the Diversity and Inclusion Handbook – Phase 1 and Phase 2 remain available to help organisers create inclusive table tennis environments.

Step into the Next Chapter: Looking Ahead to WTTD 2026

As we close the chapter on this transformative two-year theme, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all our event organisers, Promoters, Member Associations, partners, and participants around the world for your creativity, dedication, and passion that brought the WTTD 2025 celebration to life.

This inspiring journey continues. WTTD 2026 will welcome everyone with a new theme, new motto that will carry us forward with fresh energy and purpose.

Let’s keep the momentum going and keep proving that table tennis is a sport for EVERYONE!
