Solidarity Starts Here

Saturday September 28, 2019 has been set to host a huge celebration for the ITTF Foundation’s headquarters inauguration in Leipzig, Germany. Leipzig is a culturally rich city that is home to nearly 600,000 inhabitants from diverse backgrounds.

TT2GO - Role models joining the rally
Saturday’s event will be an all day and open to all celebration. We are thrilled to have internationally renowned table tennis players, Olympians and Para-Olypians joining us for this historic chapter of the ITTF Foundation; Aida Dahlen, Jens Greve, Matilda Ekholm and Sarah Hanffou!

These role models, like many other brilliant and inspiring pioneers and supporters are helping us tell the bigger story – that together we are building dreams, promoting good health, connecting people and possibilities, advancing development and peace.

Among the invited guests are friends of the German and International Table Tennis family, ITTF Foundation partners, diplomats and members of government.

“An exciting and promising future lays ahead of us! I hope that the entire table tennis community gets involved and inspired to make a positive impact through our sport." Thomas Weikert, ITTF Foundation President

TT4ALL- How can you join the fun?
Visit any station in Willy-Brandt-Platz, University of Leipzig “Augusteum”, Augustusplatz, Moritzbastei, Little Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz or Thomaskirche and take a fun quiz! The 6 stations represent the 6 programs of the ITTF Foundation. You can do this by playing table tennis or answering a question on-site or on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Are you ready to unleash some talents? Can you play while tied together with a stranger of friend? Fancy practicing your strokes with a robot? Or perhaps challenge yourself to play in a wheelchair or imagine yourself as a player with a visual impairment. These challenges are aimed at helping everyone who attends the event see the different perspective of living in an unequal world and how each individual effort greatly contributes towards promoting inclusiveness and diversity.

“The ITTF has a long history of Corporate Social Responsibility projects across the world. Now that the ITTF Foundation is completely setup, we have a good location and an amazing team that is dedicated to building up dreams and inspiring others to use table tennis as a tool for sustainable development and shared prosperity”. Leandro Olvech, ITTF Foundation Director

ITTF Foundation is spear heading positive social legacies with local residents and people beyond the city’s borders. With #TT4ALL - #TT2GO we are participating in the UN SDG’s Action Week (#Act4SDGs), the European Week of Sports (#BeActive), the Leipzig Intercultural Weeks & the TAFISA/ Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association to present the proclaimed #WorldWalkingDay.
