Relive the Memories of Resilience and Connection: World Table Tennis for Health Festival 2024 After-movie Released!
Five and a half months ago, the 2024 World Table Tennis for Health Festival wrapped up in Maizières-lès-Metz, France, uniting 153 participants from 25 countries and territories in an unforgettable celebration of connection and determination through our beloved sport. Today, on World Parkinson’s Day, we are proud to unveil the official after-movie of the 2024 Festival — a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of unity, resilience, and shared purpose.
As we reflect on this inspiring and emotional week, we invite you to watch, share, and immerse yourself in the moments that we all cherish. Let’s relive the spirit of camaraderie and strength in motion through this special after-movie:
A Festival of Health, Hope, and Friendship
Held from 23–27 October 2024, the 2nd edition Festival marked the largest gathering in its history, bringing together players, caregivers, coaches, medical professionals, volunteers, and supporters worldwide. From the World Parkinson’s Table Tennis Championships to the World Alzheimer’s Table Tennis Championships, the week was full of action and emotion, showcasing not only thrilling matches but also sportsmanship and solidarity.
An integral part of the Festival was the two-day World Table Tennis for Health Congress, where researchers, healthcare professionals, and sport development leaders gathered to explore how table tennis supports people living with neurodegenerative diseases. Speakers from esteemed institutions alongside local experts and lived-experience advocates explored evidence-based approaches, shared the latest findings, and promoted an inclusive and active lifestyle for all.
A special moment occurred during the Congress as Zoran Primorac, 7-time Olympian and table tennis legend, was welcomed as the newest ITTF Foundation Ambassador. His commitment to TT4Health will further empower our mission to promote wellness through sport.
The week ended with an emotional award and closing ceremony, full of cheers, joy, and heartfelt appreciation. As the ITTF Foundation flag was passed from the French Local Organising Committee to Sweden, we looked ahead with excitement to the 2025 edition in Helsingborg.
A Call to Champion Health on and off the Table
As we celebrate World Parkinson’s Day, this after-movie serves as a tribute to the players who rise above physical and emotional challenges, to caregivers and coaches who support with love and dedication, and to every volunteer, partner, and donor who made this celebration possible. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Ultimate Table Tennis for their unwavering support in making this meaningful event possible.
Watch the after-movie now, share the joy, and join us again in November in Helsingborg. Until then, keep playing, keep connecting, and keep believing in the power of table tennis.
