Parkinson’s Showcase Event ahead of the 2025 World Table Tennis for Health Festival
The Parkinson’s community is growing and becoming increasingly enthusiastic about competing in table tennis tournaments. As an international organisation dedicated to promoting health and inclusivity through table tennis, the ITTF Foundation has recognised this demand and is working to create more opportunities for people with Parkinson’s to compete, making tournaments more inclusive at various levels.
This year marks a new milestone: the first-ever Parkinson’s Showcase Event, a two-day competition, will take place during the European Para Table Tennis Championships, right before the 2025 World Table Tennis for Health Festival.
This initiative is not intended to integrate Parkinson’s players into the Paralympic movement but to create a parallel stage of awareness and opportunity. The ITTF Foundation is also working towards organising more Parkinson’s Showcase Events alongside other Para table tennis competitions, aiming to bring at least one to each continent every year.
