One Month to Go: World Table Tennis Day 2025 Main Celebration Will Come to Kenya!

Only one month left until World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) 2025! The ITTF Foundation is thrilled to announce that the WTTD 2025 main celebration event will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, in collaboration with Vision Changers Kenya, one of our Dream Building Fund (DBF) project partners. On 23 April 2025, the heart of Mukuru Kwa Njenga community in Nairobi will transform into a vibrant hub of table tennis activities, cultural performances, and meaningful discussions centered around this year's theme: Diversity and Inclusion.

From Local Impact to WTTD Celebration

For the past three years, we have collaborated with Vision Changers Kenya through our DBF programme, supporting their impactful "Hope kwa Vijana Mtaani" (Hope for Youth in the Community) project. This initiative has been instrumental in using table tennis as a tool for crime prevention, rehabilitation and reintegration, significantly reducing juvenile offenses in local communities.

The success of this project speaks volumes: over 880 youth directly benefited, with noticeable reductions in youth crime rates through prevention strategies that engage young people in constructive activities. By establishing six table tennis facilities within informal settlements in Mukuru Kwa Njenga and Kariobangi, Vision Changers Kenya has demonstrated how table tennis can transform lives and communities.

Highlighting these achievements, the WTTD 2025 main celebration in Kenya will reinforce the message that table tennis is more than just a sport—it is a bridge towards community cohesion that connects people of different abilities, backgrounds, ages, and gender identities. By collaborating with Vision Changers Kenya, we aim to amplify the spirit of Diversity and Inclusion and inspire a more accepting society worldwide.
