NEW DATE for ITTF Parkinson’s World Table Tennis Championships 2021

Due to the ongoing thread of Covid-19 and respective international travel restrictions, the second ITTF Parkinson’s World Table Tennis Championships had to be postponed until September 2021.

The first edition of the ITTF Parkinson’s World Table Tennis Championships (PWTTC) began as a pilot project of our TT4Health programme. As it turned out to be a huge success and a great opportunity to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease, we decided to be an annual event. Unfortunately, Covid-19 appeared and the original date of the second edition had to be postponed... twice...

We still want to support the people diagnosed with Parkinson's and their families and friends, and showcase the world the impact of table tennis on a social, mental and physical level.

Therefore, we want to assure you that we're still very excited about organising the 2nd PWTTC 2021 in Berlin, Germany. The decision to postpone the PWTTC once more to 9 - 11 September 2021 was taken from the Local Organising Committee (LOC) YUVEDO supported by the German Table Tennis Association DTTB and us, the ITTF Foundation. For us, the players' health and safety are most important, so it would be reckless to conduct it sooner as people with Parkinson's are particularly at risk of contagion.

They are optimistically looking forward to welcoming 300 participants from our Member Associations as well as many relatives and friends and to conducting a responsible and joyful tournament in Berlin. In order to guarantee access for each country and territory, we are currently working on a concept of country and territory quotas.

Kindly note, that your registration remains valid without obligation, if you have pre-registered already. If not, you can pre-register now through the LOC's website.

The LOC will come back to you as soon as we have the prospectus and will start the official registration.
