ITTF Foundation Annual Report 2024 Now Available!
We are thrilled to unveil the ITTF Foundation Annual Report 2024—a celebration of a year marked by purpose, growth, and the fifth anniversary of the ITTF Foundation. This report captures the key milestones, inspiring stories, and impactful partnerships that shaped our work over the past year. With Diversity and Inclusion as our central theme, we engaged communities, empowered individuals, and made table tennis more accessible to all. And as always, we remained focused on advancing our mission through programmes and initiatives rooted in the belief that table tennis can be a powerful catalyst for lasting change.
2024: A Year of Growth and Purpose
Diversity and Inclusion guided our actions across all programmes in 2024. A nearly equal gender balance among project participants (49% female : 51% male), the publication of two Diversity & Inclusion handbooks, and the active inclusion of refugees (12%) and seniors (25%) in our projects underscored our commitment to equity in sport and beyond.
TT Dream Building
Out of 177 applications from 64 countries and territories, we selected five outstanding Dream Building Fund projects to launch a new cycle of community-driven initiatives. A total of 13 DBF projects were active in 2024, making tangible contributions to local development goals. We also conducted onsite visits to projects in Bulgaria and India, reaffirming our dedication to hands-on support and learning.
TT4ALL
World Table Tennis Day 2024, under the theme of Diversity and Inclusion, was celebrated with 812 events in 121 countries and territories, uniting over 87,000 participants around the values of togetherness and equity. With the 32 dedicated Promoters and five Continental Federations, the global celebration was even amplified. WTTD 2024 also made history as we held our first-ever WTTD event in our headquarters city, Leipzig.
TT4Health
The 2024 World Table Tennis for Health Festival took place in Maizières-lès-Metz, France. This second edition welcomed a record 153 participants from 25 countries and territories. It also marked the launch of the NeuroPong Handbook, providing scientifically backed guidance for adapting table tennis training to people with neurodegenerative diseases.
TT Legacy
One of our proudest moments in 2024 came from a legacy of the previous year’s Health Festival: two players with Parkinson’s represented the Foundation at the ITTF World Masters Championships Rome 2024, competing among over 6,000 able-bodied athletes. Additionally, all medals at the 2024 Health Festival were made from broken table tennis balls, collected and transformed through 3D printing into sustainable awards.
Partnerships and Global Reach
We also forged strategic partnerships to expand our reach and impact. A new Memorandum of Understanding with World Table Tennis (WTT) and a landmark partnership with Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) have paved the way for the future of our initiatives. We were also honoured to welcome two legendary players, Sharath Kamal Achanta and Zoran Primorac, as ITTF Foundation Ambassadors.
Our presence at various international events raised awareness for our mission, and most importantly, we witnessed an inspiring increase in our donor community—312 individuals and organisations joined us in advancing positive social change through table tennis.
As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for every supporter, partner, and participant who shared this journey. Read the full report here and immerse yourself in the joy and inspiration of last year’s impact.
