Celebrating Health and Joy around ONE Table: World Table Tennis Day 2026 Main Event After-Movie Released
The record-breaking World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) 2026 united people around ONE table in more than 1,100 events across 140 countries and territories. It marked the first year of our new biennial theme, Health & Well-being, in an edition coinciding with the Centenary of Table Tennis and the ITTF. At the heart of the global celebration, the vibrant WTTD Main Event took place in Kapadwanj, India, home to "Smash Barriers", one of the ITTF Foundation's TT4Change projects, and to its project partner Kapadwanj Kelavani Mandal (KKM).
Want to hear more stories about this Main Event through table tennis legend Peter Karlsson, ITTF Foundation Ambassador Sharath Kamal, and the Kapadwanj community sharing their first-hand memories and why table tennis means so much to them? Today, we are overjoyed to release the after-movie of the WTTD 2026 Main Event! Press play, meet some of the people behind the celebration, and relive the energy, the colours and the community spirit of the day.
The celebration came alive in Kapadwanj
Organised by Kapadwanj Kelavani Mandal (KKM) and the Dani Sports Foundation together with the ITTF Foundation, the WTTD 2026 Main Event brought the global celebration to a place where table tennis has been changing lives for the past two years.
Over 400 participants joined a vibrant day of community exhibitions, cultural performances, fun table tennis activities, Spinsight's interactive stations, and exciting showcase matches. From the first rally to the final cheer, the day showed how table tennis can move people, connect generations and bring Health & Well-being to life.
Joining the local community on this celebratory day were ITTF and ITTF Foundation President Petra Sörling, ITTF Foundation Governing Board member Vita Dani, Indian icon and ITTF Foundation Ambassador Sharath Kamal, table tennis legend Peter Karlsson, and table tennis influencer Adam Bobrow.
Spinsight, our WTTD 2026 Global Main Sponsor, was also present with an interactive booth, where participants were excited to experience table tennis through technology and discover new ways to play, engage and connect.
Champions, changemakers, communities, families and first-time players shared the same tables and the same joy. Because in table tennis, everyone belongs in the rally.
Local voices, global story
The after-movie not only captures the lively atmosphere of the day, but also traces the vivid history and stories of World Table Tennis Day up to today, and presents the voices of community participants, project leaders, and WTTD Promoters who travelled from different areas of India to support the Main Celebration in Kapadwanj.
You will meet WTTD Promoters who share what WTTD means to them and why they keep bringing it back to their communities year after year. You will also hear from mothers in Kapadwanj, who describe how table tennis has changed their children in behaviour and in the way they connect with others.
Together, they turned the event into a shared moment of collaboration, community spirit and Health & Well-being in action.
