2025 World Table Tennis for Health Festival Opens Today in Helsingborg, Sweden!

An initiative of the ITTF Foundation, the 3rd and largest edition of the World Table Tennis for Health Festival officially opens today in Helsingborg, Sweden, running from 26 to 30 November.

This year’s Festival continues to feature three core events: World Parkinson’s Table Tennis Championships, World Alzheimer’s Table Tennis Championships, and World Table Tennis for Health Congress. Welcoming a record 195 players from 23 countries and territories, the Festival brings together athletes, coaches, health professionals, researchers, and supporters from around the world. It celebrates the resilience, inspiration, and camaraderie that unite the global Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s community using table tennis as a force for health and well-being.

As the Festival opens, Leandro Olvech, ITTF Foundation Director, shared a warm message with all participants: “Enjoy the Festival, enjoy every moment of connection, and take in the vibrant energy of the opening ceremony. This week is all about celebrating what table tennis for health, for hope, and for a better life.”

A Celebration of Health, Well-being, and Table Tennis

The World Table Tennis for Health Festival showcases the positive impact of table tennis on physical, mental, and overall well-being, particularly for individuals living with neurodegenerative conditions.

Powered by Ultimate Table Tennis and organised by the Swedish Table Tennis Association, this year’s edition underscores the growing popularity of table tennis within the Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s communities worldwide. With the largest participation to date, the event will show how table tennis can improve mobility, coordination, and social connection, demonstrating the power of table tennis to change lives.

Coming together from all around the world to gather, compete, and inspire one another in Helsingborg, the participants of the Festival embody resilience, hope, and an unwavering spirit. By taking part in this event, they are not only embracing the joy of sportsmanship and friendship but also setting an inspiring example of perseverance in the face of life’s challenges.
