2025 in Review: A Year of Impact Through Table Tennis

We are proud to release the ITTF Foundation Annual Activity Report 2025 and the 2025 Impact Summary Video, reflecting on another year of our work in using table tennis to unite communities, strengthen partnerships, and inspire change across the world.

Throughout 2025, our TT4All, TT4Health, and TT4Change programmes continued to demonstrate how table tennis can be a powerful tool for inclusion, health, and sustainable development. From record-breaking global celebrations to impactful health initiatives and community projects around the world, this year was marked by meaningful milestones, inspiring partnerships, and stories that showcased the transformative power of table tennis.

2025: A Year of Connection and Impact

In 2025, hope travelled further and smiles shone brighter than ever before. Through our four programme areas, we continued creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect, grow, and thrive through table tennis.

As we reflect on the year, the “Table Tennis Can Change Lives” message remains at the heart of our work.

TT4Change

In 2025, six TT4Change projects successfully completed their journeys in Kenya, Nepal, Colombia, Tonga, Ghana, and Iran, leaving meaningful and lasting impacts within their communities.

At the same time, from 85 applications representing 52 countries and territories, six outstanding projects were selected as the Generation 2026 cohort. These initiatives have embarked on their journeys to bring table tennis-based education, health programmes, leadership development, and inclusive sporting activities to communities in Peru, India, Thailand, England, Chile, and Kenya.

During the year, the Foundation also conducted project visits to the Smash Barriers project in India and the Hope Kwa Vijana Mtaani project in Kenya. Meeting participants and witnessing the projects firsthand reinforced the importance of community-led development through sport and reminded us of the real impact these initiatives have on people's lives.

TT4ALL

Championing Diversity and Inclusion for the second consecutive year, World Table Tennis Day 2025 broke the record in terms of participation. A total of 845 events took place across 146 countries and territories, with the engagement of 67 ITTF Member Associations.

From grassroots celebrations around the world to the Main Event in Nairobi, Kenya, World Table Tennis Day brought together more than 102,000 participants, demonstrating the universal power of table tennis to unite people and communities.

Beyond the celebrations, we continued promoting safer and more inclusive sporting environments through interactive workshops, participation in multi-partner projects, and engagement in international forums.

Building on this global momentum, we also announced the next theme that will guide both World Table Tennis Day and the ITTF Foundation's work in 2026 and 2027: Health and Well-Being.

TT4Health

With 189 players living with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's from 23 countries and territories, the 2025 World Table Tennis for Health Festival powered by UTT, held in Helsingborg, Sweden, became the largest edition of the event to date. The Festival created a unique space where table tennis, friendship, and resilience came together.
Through the Championships, the Health Congress, and a variety of engaging activities, participants shared inspiring stories of determination, confidence, and personal growth. The first Parkinson's Showcase Event, held ahead of the Festival alongside the European Para Championships, also helped raise awareness within the global table tennis community.

The year marked another important milestone with the launch of the SWAN Erasmus+ Project, bringing together seven European partners to advance research and innovation for people living with neurodegenerative diseases through table tennis.

As the TT4Health journey continues, the next World Table Tennis for Health Festival is set to take place in Shanghai, China, in October 2026.

Global Presence and Partnerships

Throughout 2025, we expanded our global reach and strengthened partnerships across the table tennis ecosystem. Through our presence at the ITTF World Championships Finals in Doha, the ITTF Summit, and all four WTT Smash events, we shared inspiring stories, engaged directly with fans, partners, and Member Associations, and raised awareness of the powerful role table tennis can play in creating positive social change.

From Doha to Beijing, these opportunities allowed us to connect with the global table tennis community and demonstrate how sport can be a catalyst for healthier, more inclusive, and more connected societies.

Through every rally, every programme, and every community, we will continue demonstrating how table tennis strengthens physical health, supports mental well-being, and creates meaningful social connections.
