Stanley Lezeni is a Programme Officer of Vision Changers Kenya for Hope Kwa Vijana Mtaani, our Dream Building Fund 2021 project in Nairobi. Lezeni oversees this initiative to transform juvenile offenders’ and reformed youth's behaviour to promote career possibilities, improve social development, and reduce stress through table tennis training.
Fifita, and many other people with disabilities, grew up limiting their social contact because society is yet inclusive enough to provide equal chances and support networks around them. Our Dream Building Fund 20 project Smash Down Barriers addresses this challenge by creating an inclusive environment through table tennis training. More than four years ago, 11-year-old Yousef was forced to flee Syria with his family. Their journey brought them to Alkmaar in the Netherlands. In the short time he has been here, Yousef has grown into as a positive role model for integration in the community. He plays and coaches table tennis at Ping Pong Alkmaar, speaks Dutch fluently and is always keen to lend a helping hand.
